The man in the moon only comes out at night. You reel me in out of the sun away from the light. Hook in my heart, my feet up up up off the ground. Easy to come up....but much harder coming down. Among the stars you sleep alone. Many people have tried and failed to claim you for their own. I hold my fingers up and there you fit just like a bone. And I'm the dog that keeps trying to drag you in from the cold. But as the seasons change you know you're getting older. But "I'll never change. Don't think that's ever gonna change. And you can find me after midnight in the same old place, you can find me in the mountains in the same old cave. Don't think that's ever gonna change." As I look down at the world below, with a wink it fits so perfectly inside my littlest toe. And with every dance this strange romance leaves my blood cold. In your pale moonlight well it's fight or flight so look how I evolve! I toss and turn with the tides, my skin to scales, my nails to claws, red beady eyes. I yearn for the breeze but learn how to breathe without the skies. I say 'couldn't we just leave, couldn't we just try?' You say... That as the seasons change you know you're getting colder. But "I'll never change. Don't think that's ever gonna change. And you can find me after midnight in the same old place, you can find me in the mountains in the same old cave. Don't think that's ever gonna change." "And you can find me after midnight in the same old place, you can find me in the mountains in the same old cave, and you can come here with your flag but I will remain unclaimed!" Don't think that' s ever gonna change.

I wish I had a clock in a hall, then I'd know just what to write about. I wish I had a lighthouse to stop these words from dying on the rocks. I wish I could sleep with the blinds up let the visitors come lead me across the stars. I wish I had a fireplace so my thoughts could rise like smoke or fall like ash. I wish... I wish I had a pipe to taste the smoke down by an old railway track. I wish I had a crown and a cloak so I could lie with you and call it myth. I wish I could go back to that winter, those half empty rooms, boxes strewn across a bed. I wish I could cut all your hair off, wear you down, love you to the bone. I wish... I wish I had a telescope to find comfort in the smallness of infinity. I wish I had a long piece of grass to teach me how to wait patiently. I wish I had a hat and star, not a coward, but a cowboy on the run from the law. And I wish I heard bells every night giving ceremony to my sadness. I wish... But you leave me breathless, you leave me....breathless.

The Dance 04:03
The thames is wild tonight. The top of the shard is just out of sight. And the moon's not full but it's still bright, as the ghosts dance round the streetlights. My killer, my love, it's the sweetest kind of giving up. And this old white flag keeps burning up. So I'll light a fire and dance as the smoke engulfs our last romance. As palaces rise up from the ground you lift me up and spin me around and then as night falls see how they tumble. With the candles making shadows you trace your fingers across my skin, like a wave that breaks me and drags me back in. And with each perfect apocalypse of you and me I want like a criminal and I love like a thief. With each knife in my back each footstep leads straight to your arms so easily. My killer, my love, it's the sweetest kind of giving up. And this old white flag keeps burning up. So I'll light a fire and dance as the smoke engulfs our last romance. As palaces rise up from the ground you lift me up and spin me around and then as night falls see how they tumble. La la la la, la la la la, la la la la, la la la la. Spin me around again, spin me around, spin me around again, spin me around. Spin me around again, spin me around, spin me around again, spin me around. Spin me around again, spin me around, spin me around again, spin me around. Spin me around again, spin me around, let's go around again, let's go around.
